Frequently Asked Questions
What glass thickness do you use for frameless showers?
We use both 3/8″ and 1/2″ tempered glass. Which one fits your project depends on panel size, hardware, and the design of your enclosure, and we’ll recommend the right option when we measure your space.
What's the difference between frameless and semi-frameless shower doors?
Frameless enclosures use thicker glass with minimal hardware for a clean, open look. Semi-frameless enclosures may incorporate additional framing or hardware when the design, opening, or application calls for it.
How much does a shower door installation cost in Minnetonka?
There’s no flat rate; the final number comes down to your glass thickness, enclosure size, frame style, and hardware choice. We’ll walk through those options with you and follow up with a firm number once we’ve measured your space in person.
How long will my Minnetonka shower glass project take from quote to install?
Fabrication typically takes about 1.5 – 2 weeks once measurements are finalized, and we’ll schedule your installation as soon as the glass is ready.
Can you fit custom shower glass into an older Minnetonka home with a non-standard bathroom?
Yes. Older Minnetonka homes with uneven walls, angled ceilings, knee walls, benches, notches, or other non-standard bathroom layouts can still accommodate custom shower glass. Each enclosure is measured and designed to fit the existing space for a precise, clean installation.
Do you work with contractors or remodelers on Minnetonka projects?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with builders, remodelers, and designers on Minnetonka jobs, working directly with the trade team to keep the glass portion of the project on schedule.
Is an in-person showroom visit required to get a quote in Minnetonka?
No showroom visit is required. Glass Specialists provides mobile, on-site service throughout Minnetonka and the surrounding Twin Cities area.
What hardware finishes can I choose for my Minnetonka shower enclosure?
Common finishes include Chrome, Brushed Nickel, and Matte Black, with premium options like brushed brass, brushed bronze, polished nickel, and oil-rubbed bronze also available.
Do you offer protective glass coatings for Minnetonka installations?
Yes. We offer protective glass coatings that help reduce water spotting and make cleaning easier; ask about this option when you request your quote.
