Frameless Shower Glass Specialists in Minneapolis, MN
Minneapolis homeowners, builders, and remodelers rely on Glass Specialists for custom frameless shower glass, semi-frameless enclosures, and steam shower enclosures made for their actual bathroom. We start every project with an in-person measurement, then fabricate and install the glass around that exact space, with attention to fit, function, and finish.
From historic character homes near Kenwood and Lowry Hill to newer condos and lofts around the North Loop, Minneapolis bathrooms come in many shapes and sizes. Whatever yours looks like, we measure and build around it.
Shower Glass Services We Offer in Minneapolis, MN
Custom Frameless Shower
Enclosures
Custom frameless shower glass with minimal hardware and clean lines, a favorite in Minneapolis’s newer condos and loft conversions, where an open feel matters as much as the finish.
Semi-Frameless Shower
Enclosures
A bit of extra framing goes a long way in older Minneapolis bathrooms that need more structural support, without losing that custom, put-together look.
Custom Shower
Glass
Angled walls, tight footprints, and other quirks are common across Minneapolis's older housing stock, and that's exactly the kind of layout custom fabrication is meant to handle.
Steam Shower
Enclosures
Steam setups call for a different approach to glass, seals, and ventilation than a standard shower, and we design each enclosure around those specific needs.

Final Walkthrough
We inspect fit, function, hardware operation, and finish with you before we call the job done.
Minneapolis has a wide range of housing, from historic character homes near Kenwood and Lowry Hill to newer condos and lofts around North Loop. Older homes often come with uneven walls, unusual angles, or tighter bathroom footprints that need glass measured for that specific space. Newer builds tend to have more standard openings, where a frameless enclosure can make a compact bathroom feel a lot more open.
Every project starts the same way regardless of the home’s age: we measure what’s actually there and build the glass to match it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a glass shower door installation cost in Minneapolis?
The final price comes down to enclosure size, glass thickness, and hardware finish. We’ll give you a ballpark after hearing about your project, then a firm number once we’ve measured in person.
Can custom glass be fitted to an older Minneapolis home with uneven walls?
Yes. A lot of Minneapolis’s older housing stock has bathrooms with angled walls or nonstandard dimensions, and we measure each one individually rather than working off a stock size.
Do you install glass in multi-unit buildings or for property managers in Minneapolis?
Yes. Glass Specialists works with designers, property managers, builders, bathroom remodelers, and other trade professionals throughout the surrounding Twin Cities.
How long does a shower glass project take from start to finish?
Fabrication typically takes approximately 1.5–2 weeks, depending on the glass, hardware, finish, and complexity of the project. Afterwards, when the fabricated glass is ready, the installation is scheduled.
Is a steam shower enclosure different from a regular shower enclosure?
Yes. Steam enclosures need a fully sealed design with careful attention to seals at every joint, since they’re built to hold in heat and moisture rather than just block water spray.
What hardware finishes are available for a Minneapolis shower enclosure?
Chrome, Brushed Nickel, and Matte Black are our standard finishes, with premium options like brushed brass, brushed bronze, polished nickel, and oil-rubbed bronze also available.
Do you work with builders or remodeling contractors on Minneapolis projects?
Yes. We regularly come in as the glass subcontractor for builders and remodelers on both renovation and new construction projects around Minneapolis.
How thick is the glass in a frameless shower?
We install frameless glass in both 3/8″ and 1/2″ tempered options. The thickness we recommend depends on panel size, hardware, and the layout of your Minneapolis bathroom, and we’ll go through it when we measure.
